REVIEW: Stuart Michael – Psychic Medium

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Stuart Michael asks you to open your mind to the beyond as he takes us on a charming thoughtful two hours of messages and dream interpretations.

Stuart Michael brings his light humour, positive attitude and empathy to the stage in a UK tour. Catching him at the Wonderville in London we were introduced to Stuart and his childhood gift of being able to see with the mind’s eye, and for this show Stuart uses his extraordinary abilities to connect with the spirit world. Walking around the audience and being intuitively drawn to members he claims he will bring forward direct messages from the other side.

As someone who has never put much stock in psychics, I was interested to see Stuart’s show and suspend beliefs and prior conceptions for the duration. The format of the show was to explore messages from the other side, pause for some dream interpretations and then resume the messages.

I was impressed by Michael’s presence on stage and the compassionate way he navigated delivering messages from loved ones to their recipients whilst still keeping the audience engaged and on side. Several instances I was impressed by the items Michael knew of deceased individuals that I couldn’t see how he’d know otherwise. Audience members he approached often went white with shock when he mentioned certain factors as they realised who he was communing with.

Once or twice he went down an avenue of questioning/positing that just didn’t resonate with an audience member and that lost that feeling of suspense and intrigue in the air for a brief period of time. However he was always quick to regain control of the atmosphere and move on if it felt like there was no connection between the audience and the someone beyond.

One area I found disappointing was the dream interpretations as they felt extremely generic. Michael’s interpretations didn’t always resonate with the audience member and there wasn’t the same explorations between Michael and the audience member to best interpret the dream in a way that meant something to them. I found it quite a jarring addition to the evening and probably would have found it smoother and more cohesive without.

As a whole I enjoyed Michael’s charisma and the evening. Whether I’m completely convinced of the ability to commune with the dead I’m unsure but I’m definitely more open. Maybe I’ll have to arrange a private appointment to explore further!
