REVIEW: 2.36

Reading Time: 2 minutesAfter their grandfather falls ill and their parents decide to stay with him in hospital, half-siblings Josh and Keira are stranded together on a ‘family holiday’. Deciding to make the best of it, they reconnect over the course of a few too many drinks over lunch, and then even more back at the hotel.

REVIEW: A Role To Die For

Reading Time: 2 minutesArriving at the glitzy press night for Marylebone Theatre’s run of A Role To Die For, the audience is immediately launched into the quintessential energy of the James Bond Universe. There is a lot of booze and evening dresses - an apt entrance for a fast-paced production based on the casting of the next James Bond.

REVIEW: As You Like It

Reading Time: 3 minutesAs far as accessible and outdoorsy Early Modern comedies go, As You Like It is a pretty intuitive candidate. A split setting between town and woods allows East London Shakespeare Festival to make clever use of not only their parkland surroundings, but also the facade of Clissold House in Stoke Newington – a building whose period brickwork and Victorian austerity all but meld into the show’s own set-pieces.

REVIEW: Ivories

Reading Time: 2 minutesIvories is a play with visible potential - the set design is beautiful, the lighting is suspenseful, and the four actors (two in leading roles, two in supporting roles) are expressive and eager to engage with the material. However, the production had multiple weak moments.

REVIEW: Get Happy

Our protagonist, a gay man in his late twenties, finds his world nudged off-kilter when his best friend and housemate announces their engagement.
