After a whirlwind summer of sold-out performances, standing ovations, and rave reviews, multi-award-winning company Gigglemug Theatre is opening the virtual doors to their two newest critical successes. For the first time ever, Scouts! The Musical and A Jaffa Cake Musical are available to watch online, offering audiences around the world the chance to join in on the fun. Digital tickets go live exclusively on Lounges.TV from Wednesday 12 November.

It’s a significant milestone for Gigglemug, a company whose reputation for delightfully offbeat, high-energy musical comedy has grown rapidly in recent years. “I am thrilled that our two most successful productions will now find a new life online,” says Gigglemug Artistic Director Sam Cochrane. “We could only tour the shows to a handful of places, but now wherever you are in the world you’ll be able to watch Scouts! The Musical and A Jaffa Cake Musical from the comfort of your own home. We were lucky enough to regularly sell out, which meant that people often missed out on tickets, so it’s wonderful that those who missed the productions will now get to see them and those who enjoyed the shows before can watch them again!”

Scouts! The Musical
Created in partnership with the Scouts, Scouts! The Musical premiered at The Other Palace in 2023 before heading out on tour earlier this year. The show has enjoyed widespread acclaim, picking up a Standing Ovation Award and nominations for a WhatsOnStage Award, an Offie Award and four Fringe Theatre Awards. Filled with heart, humour, and campfire camaraderie, the musical celebrates the spirit of adventure and the power of community.

A Jaffa Cake Musical
Inspired by the iconic 1991 legal battle that determined once and for all whether a Jaffa Cake is in fact a cake or a biscuit, this musical took the Edinburgh Fringe by storm. First developed in workshop form during 2024’s MTFest, the show went on to achieve two completely sold-out Fringe runs and accumulated more than 50 four- and five-star reviews. With its legal drama-meets-comedy-chaos energy, it’s no surprise audiences couldn’t get enough.

Together, the two productions were seen by over 8,000 audience members this summer alone.

Taking inspiration from their name (a “gigglemug” is someone who is always smiling), Gigglemug Theatre aims to create joyful, big-hearted productions that radiate positivity.
