REVIEW: February Face

Reading Time: 2 minutesWritten and starring Keelan Kember as Ed, February Face explores how we negotiate and talk about mental health with a thoughtfully laid out and sentimental narrative. Ed is a young man struggling with anxiety, a panic disorder in particular. Thinking himself to be alone in his battle, he attempts to ignore it, placating his symptoms by boozing at the pub with his friends. He meets Lily (Olivia Mills) with whom he is quickly smitten. As their relationship grows and they learn more about each other, anguish and heartbreak seem bound to follow.

REVIEW: Robin/Red/Breast

Reading Time: 2 minutes"Robin/Red/Breast," now playing at the Aviva Studio in Manchester, delves deeply into themes of women's autonomy over their bodies and fertility, blending elements of modernity and rural tradition. The show, featuring an exceptional performance by Maxine Peake and groundbreaking sound design, delivers a captivating, albeit occasionally confusing, theatrical experience.

REVIEW: The Tailor-Made Man

This new production is directed by Robert McWhir and stars Hugo Pilcher, as the “Golden Age of Hollywood” movie star William ‘Billy’ Haines. It tells the true story of his life in Hollywood as a (unknown to the public at large) gay man, and the trials and tribulations of this.

REVIEW: Withnail and I

Reading Time: 3 minutesSet in a psychedelic and grungy Camden, London in 1969 with the iconic trench coats, the story follows the antics of would-be actors Withnail a flimsy and excitable drunk brought to life by Bafta nominated actor Robert Sheehan and his timid but likely to be more successful companion, Marwood (And ‘I’) Played by Adonis Siddique.

REVIEW: Rollerghoster

Reading Time: 2 minutesI must admit I was not familiar with the character Clinton Baptiste prior to booking in to see Rollerghoster, but a quick search told me actor Alex Lowe's 'Medium Clairvoyant' creation first appeared briefly on Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, but found a cult following and continued to develop in podcasts, YouTube, and live appearances for the next 20 years.
